Spring tides at French Pass...

22nd March: Babs had her shortest day of paddling today, 10 minutes! Having strong 30+ knot head winds further out in the outer Marlborough Sounds, she stayed at French Pas but paddled around to the Northern side during slack water avoiding a large tidal race (rapid). She said it was quite a powerful race at its peak as it is spring tides right now with a 4m tidal range! At French pass she has meet some wonderful people and the local store has plenty of food. Its is hoped Babs will make some distance Monday and arrive in Picton Tuesday.
Anyone keen to meet her finish I will post by tomorrow a more concrete plan where and when.
By the way "Happy Easter" from Babs and James.
